NAM Interior Designer

Notice Description

The National Army Museum (NAM) is looking to appoint an experienced consultant/ consultancy to help it develop the interior design of the non-gallery spaces as part of the Museum's 23.25m GBP Building for the Future (BFTF) project. Specifically this appointment will relate to: 1) Entrance/Orientation area 2) Retail area 3) Cafe area 4) Board room 5) High level bridge 6) Learning suite including Templar Study Centre The required outputs are: - A review of RIBA Stage F proposals and subsequent work undertaken to date and coordination with the same. Note that the Interior Design is at Stage D. - A review of the visual communications work undertaken to date. - A review of the signage and wayfinding strategy and coordination with the same. - A review of the Commercial Report completed. - A review of the Early Years Design proposal and coordination with the same. - Design of the above named spaces (1-6) in light of the above. Note that the floor, wall and ceiling finishes have already been defined as they needed to be coordinated with the gallery finishes. The appointed Interior Designer will therefore need to work within these parameters. - In particular, whilst each of the spaces will require their own character, NAM are keen that the non-gallery spaces read as a whole with a common language to pull together the museum as a fully designed space. Each of the spaces that will fall under the Interior Designer are likely to be used for corporate hire to varying degrees and as such the quality of the spaces must be suitable for these functions as well as their everyday use.
