Summary of the contracting process

Tamworth Borough Council is inviting contractors to participate in a planned procurement for a "Framework for Disabled Adaptations Work" in the Construction work industry category. The procurement process, currently in the planning stage, covers the delivery of mandatory Disabled Facilities Grants (DFGs) for private residents and Council home adaptations for its tenants. The framework will span from 1st April 2025 to 31st March 2029, with an initial two-year term and possible extensions of 1+1 year. Located in Tamworth (postal code B79 7BZ), this open procedure procurement method has a future notice date of 27th September 2024 and a total value of £4,000,000, targeting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

This tender creates significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in construction, particularly those skilled in adaptations for disabled individuals and older adults. Businesses that can offer high-quality, consistent, and swift service are well-suited to compete. The framework consists of three Lots: Simple Adaptation work, Modular Ramping, and Major Adaptation work, allowing a range of contractors to participate via direct awards or mini-competitions, depending on the Lot. Companies providing services such as bathroom alterations, permanent ramps, garden safety works, major property conversions, and kitchen adaptations will find ample opportunity within this framework to grow their operations and expand their client base in the local community.
