Notice Description

Health Education England (HEE) and the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) are pleased to invite tenders for a three-year period to administer an existing career mentorship scheme for healthcare professionals in receipts of a personal research training award from the Integrated Clinical Academic (ICA) Programme, one of its immediate forerunners (the HEE/NIHR CAT and HCS Programmes), or for the first time, from Arthritis Research UK. HEE support the delivery of excellent healthcare and health improvement to the patient and public of England by ensuring that the workforce of today and tomorrow has the right numbers, skills, value and behaviours, at the right time and in the right place. HEE requirement aligns with our core proprieties of ensuring value for money and building commercial, capability across the public sector. HEE was initially established as a Special Health Authority in June 2012, talking on some functions from October 2012 before assuming full operational responsibilities from April 2013. As a result of the care Act 2014, the Authority became a Non-Departmental Public body on 1 April 2015. The Authority comprises of over 2500 staff split across 34 sites. The national teams, which have responsibility for the management and delivery of national initiatives and projects, are based at a number of sites across the country. Our local teams are responsible for the training and education of NHS staff, both clinical and non-clinical, within their area. Our local offices work within four regions comprising of the following: North, Midlands and East, London, and South. The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR): improving the health and wealth of the nation through research. Established by the Department of Health, the NIHR: * funds high quality research to improve health; * trains and supports health researchers; * provides world-class research facilities; * works with the life sciences industry and charities to benefit all; and * involves patients and the public at every step.
