Notice Title

Learning Spaces Building (Project Manager)

Notice Description

The University seeks to construct a new 'generic' Learning Spaces Building designed to manage the challenges posed by increasing student numbers and heightened expectation of students in respect of the quality of the learning spaces offered in a Higher Education environment where students see themselves as much as 'consumers' as 'learners'. The building should be designed to provide a portfolio of new and vibrant learning environments. The aim of which would be to provide a variety of learning, teaching, and study environments, (both formal and informal spaces), together with integral cafe facilities, designed to encourage interaction between student peers and staff members. The University has been undergoing significant construction investment over recent years; the recent completion of the new library building offers the opportunity of constructing a new building on a site next to the new library. The new building would be 'framed' between the Library and Pritchatts Road, benefitting from views over the proposed 'Green Heart', roughly facing the Alan Walters Building to the east and towards the canal to the west
