ADULT SOLICITOR Rate of Pay: Paid at Band H (PS21.13 ph to worker). If you candidate requires a limited pay rate, please state this at the time you upload their CV. Hours: 37 hours per week and the working hours are: Monday to Thursday 9.00am to 5.30pm and Friday is 9.00am to 5.00pm Location: Based at Council House, Freeth Street, Oldbury, B69 3DB Start Date: ASAP Contract type: Agency - 12 weeks Job Description is attached, which also provides more information above the role. Brief description: This is an opportunity to work for a local authority with a large established legal team who are very forward thinking. Due to increase in workloads an opportunity has arisen for a locum solicitor to hit the ground running on adult social care matters. The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor with at least 3 years PQE (or equivalent) with at least 2 years' experience specialising in and handling Public law adult care matters, preferably from a local authority prospective. The successful candidate must have the ability to carry a varied case load covering all aspects of Public Law adult matters. You must be a confident advocate as there will be an expectation for you to cover hearings, some of which may be contested. The candidate must be proactive, work well under pressure, self-reliant in addition to team working. The successful candidate will gain great exposure to a varied caseload and will enjoy a high level of responsibility with a great deal of client contact. We are looking for experienced candidates with a broad spectrum including advocacy. Essential requirements: Qualified Solicitor/ Barrister of at least 2 years' experience in Adult Law, preferably within a local authority setting including advocacy experience. Experience of providing advice to internal and external clients and an ability to undertake workload with minimal supervision.
