Summary of the contracting process

Durham County Council has awarded a contract titled "Mobile Sexual Health Service" aimed at increasing access to sexual health education and services for young people aged 13 to 19 in the North East of England. The contract, valued at £141,900, is classified under health and social work services, with a contract period starting on 1st April 2020 and concluding on 31st March 2021. The procurement process was initiated as a tender, which was completed on 20th November 2019, and it attracted bids that emphasised the importance of reaching young people in various community settings.

This tender presents significant opportunities for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprises (VCSEs) that specialise in health education, youth engagement, and social services. Businesses that can demonstrate experience in providing mobile health services, delivering educational programmes, and collaborating with local communities would be particularly suited for this endeavour. By catering to the needs of young people in targeted locations, such as schools and community hubs, successful bidders can contribute to improved public health outcomes while expanding their service offerings.
