North Tyneside Clinical Commissioning Group Referral Management Service

Notice Description

NHS North Tyneside Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is seeking to procure a high quality and effective Referral Management Service for the population of North Tyneside. The required service will receive referrals from General Practitioners within NHS North Tyneside CCG. The service will maintain a log of all referrals received and actions taken so that any individual referral can be tracked as required and data on referrals can be collated and processed. A range of specialties will include: Rheumatology, Respiratory Medicine, Cardiology, Breast Surgery, Colorectal, Urology, Plastics, Vascular, Gastroenterology and Nephrology. The provider will be expected to be in a position to deliver additional specialties as required by the CCG with 4-weeks' notice. All referrals will go through clinical triage by either an accredited GPSI (GP with Special Interest) or consultant to check that the relating referrals meet the clinical criteria and have been properly worked up in primary care to maximise referral quality and clinical appropriateness. The service provider will follow any criteria or guideline established by the CCG such as clinical pathways. The contract on offer will be for a period of 1 year with effect from 01 October 2015 and will be a tariff based service with an anticipated initial activity level of approximately 12,500 per annum. Under the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 the contracting authority must consider: * How what is proposed to be procured might improve the economic, social and environmental well-being of the relevant area. * How, in conducting the process of procurement, it might act with a view to securing the improvement. The basic principles of the Open Procedure will be followed to commission this service, thus ensuring a fair, open and transparent process in accordance with NHS (Procurement, Patient Choice and Competition) (No. 2) Regulations 2013. The procurement is being undertaken by North of England Commissioning Support (NECS) for and on behalf of NHS North Tyneside CCG. NECS is utilising an electronic tendering tool to manage this procurement and communicate with potential providers. Accordingly, there will be no hard copy documents issued to potential providers and all communications with NECS, including your submission, will be conducted via the portal. The Invitation to Tender (ITT) and all supporting documents are available to download / complete within the portal - https://In-tendhost.co.uk/necs It is free to register on the portal, and it can be accessed at any time of day.
