Notice Description
The Provision of a Community Wide Physical Activity Event/Game. Encompassing the concept, technology to track participants, a marketing campaign and data evaluation. Bury Council understands the magnitude of the health issues that our residents face and wants to encourage behaviour change so that our residents lead a more active lifestyle as a result of it. Our vision is to use an innovative concept which would turn the borough of Bury into an event/game whereby children and adults become more active by walking and cycling as part of it. The concept would see participants having access to technology that tracks their progress throughout, and competitions and prizes to be won as part of the event/game. The event is to be run during Spring/Summer 2016 with the possibility of repeating in Spring/Summer 2017. The Council is seeking tenders from suitable organisations to run the event/game. To be considered your tender must: - Identify a physical activity concept which would turn the Borough of Bury (all 6 Townships) into a 'game/event' for 6-8 weeks in Spring/Summer 2016. It is anticipated that the concept could commence prior to the school term ending. The concept must be aimed at Primary School children as it is proposed that they will be the initial engagers with the concept and in turn acts as catalysts for change by involving their parents, wider family members, carers etc for the duration that the concept is running. Have a mass participation element that would engage all age groups and cultural groups within the community and be accessible to those with a disability. Identify locations to act as 'touch points' in Bury that would become part of the 'event/game' concept. Be able to record participant's attendance at these locations. Propose a mass media & awareness/marketing/PR campaign to support the concept. Project manage the implementation of the 'event/game' including the risk assessment of locations, liaison with other Departments within the Council to ensuring all health and safety requirements are met. Propose suitable technology that would track participants' activity levels for the 6-8 week duration, and give Bury Council access to the progress of participants throughout the duration of the event/game. Have a self registration system for participants to register their involvement/details Ensure the data remains the property of Bury Council. Involve a detailed evaluation and analysis of the success of the concept. Submit a project plan as part of the tender.
