Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process for the "Westminster Playscheme" is being conducted by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) in London, England. This initiative falls under the industry category of other community, social and personal services, and is currently in the planning stage. The contract, which is set to run for three years, is required to be operational by March 2019, in time for the May half-term holidays. Interested suppliers are encouraged to participate in an early market engagement session scheduled for 27 November 2018, with an engagement end date of the same day.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses focused on providing childcare services, especially those equipped to handle the needs of children aged 4-12 during school holidays. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are particularly well-suited to compete for this contract, given the potential demand for up to 3,665 spaces annually across multiple sites. By engaging in the early market session, interested providers can gain valuable insights into the requirements and facilities, thereby positioning themselves effectively for the forthcoming tender process.
