Sizewell C - Desalination Plant Installation and Services
Notice Description
1. Sizewell C needs a sea water reverse osmosis desalination plant during the construction and initial production phase of the Sizewell C nuclear facility in Suffolk. 2. IDE Technologies and DC Dwek Corporate Finance partnered for the desalination project. IDE is one of the leading desalination and water treatment companies in the world and has a strong international track record of desalination plant delivery. 3. The maximum capacity of drinking water required is 5,000 m3 per day with a maximum intake of 13,300 m3/day for a 15-year period. The plant needs to be constructed to a 25-year life. 4. All the desalination equipment will be supplied from Europe and assembled onsite. 1st and 2nd pass membrane skids with all the key desalination equipment will include: a. Extensive pumping requirements and redundancy including high pressure pumps, dosing pumps, backwash pumps, limestone feed pumps, potable water and transfer pumps. b. Pressure vessels and reverse osmosis membranes. c Detailed pre and post treatment requirements including de-gritting, flocculation, dual membrane filters, limestone etc. 5. We will require UK based Civil and Mechanical & Electrical contractors to prepare the site and to connect the skids to the electric control rooms and to the necessary pipework. 6. All the post RO membrane water related equipment supplies need to comply with Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) UK water regulation 31. This includes: a Piping b Tanks c. Valves 7. All electrical works will be required to UK standards. The two containerised electric rooms will need to be supplied to interconnect with the skids and control the plant. The MEICA contractor will interconnect as required. 8. The infrastructure is critical for Sizewell and there is a 16-month timeline for the project with plant availability expected from October 2025 and project completion by January 2026. 9. We are committed to offering the opportunity to local contractors and suppliers to meet the Sizewell C local content and social value goals of the wider project. Support is offered to local suppliers by The Suffolk Chamber of Commerce. 10. Interested parties are to register on the CompeteFor platform. https://www.competefor.com/sizewellc/ ).
