Notice Title

Development of Engagement Plan and Sustainability Strategy

Notice Description

The Government's 25 Year Environment Plan and UK climate change predictions both highlight the need to act now and act quickly to lessen our environmental impact and increase our resilience to a changing climate. This includes protecting our country's biodiversity and the beneficial social aspects a good environment bring. It is vital for our reputation and the work we do that we deliver improvements, not only reducing our impact, but optimising opportunities too. By looking at this, we also increase our resilience against areas such as resource scarcity, increased costs and the impact of extreme weather events. The goal of this procurement is to support the creation of an innovative sustainability strategy with defined targets to 2030 that represents the Environment Agency's role as an industry leading organisation in protecting and enhancing the environment and supporting sustainable development, utilising our unique position to deliver real environmental, social and economic benefits. The Strategy will be fit to address the scale and urgency of global sustainability issues, setting itself in the context of emerging mega-trends and aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and build on the Environment Agency's current environmental strategy 'e:Mission' successes.
