Summary of the contracting process

The NHS South, Central and West Commissioning Support Unit is leading a tender process for a "Care Package for Individual with Autism and Learning Disability" in the healthcare industry. This procurement is currently in the planning stage, with a crucial engagement deadline set for 18 July 2018. The contract is targeted at delivering essential care packages to an individual with significant needs, with services expected to transition away from a residential school by 31 August 2018. The care may be provided through several models including bespoke community packages, residential care settings, or hospital placements within the West Berkshire area.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in healthcare services, particularly those experienced in autism and learning disabilities. Qualified nursing and support staff are essential for providing the required care, making this a suitable opportunity for SMEs and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) that have expertise in high-needs care delivery. Additionally, organisations with the capability to create innovative care solutions could enhance their competitive edge in this tender process.

The service user is currently in a residential school. Notice on his current placement expires on 31 August 2018 and any proposal will need to achieve a transition by that date. Please see attached document "PIN_final.doc" for full advert text.
