Summary of the contracting process

The Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames is seeking a contractor for the "Foldable Cycle Hire Scheme for Kingston upon Thames" as part of an open procurement process. This initiative involves the installation and maintenance of foldable bike hire stations at three new locations: Kingston Town Centre, Kingston Station, and New Malden Station. The contract, valued at £200,000, is currently in the tender stage, with a submission deadline set for 25th June 2018. The contract is expected to commence on 22nd July 2018 and will run for five years, concluding on 21st July 2023. This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in transportation services, particularly those specialising in cycling infrastructure and bike hire solutions. Companies capable of installing secure bike stations and providing quality folding bikes will find this contract suitable for growth. As the scheme is designed to be self-sustaining, organisations with experience in managing membership and booking systems will also be positioned advantageously to engage in this initiative. Collaboration with local authorities and adherence to health and safety regulations will be essential for prospective bidders.
