Notice Title

Transformation of Learning Disabilities Residential Care Homes to Supported Living Service

Notice Description

Doncaster Council is engaged in an ambitious transformation agenda. In partnership with Doncaster Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) we are seeking to offer people greater opportunities to increase their independence and reducing the use of Residential Care. In this way we seek to offer individuals more tailored support including enabling people to access services that provides choice, control and living life to the full in their community. Our ambition is that commissioned service providers want to be on that journey with us and will contribute positively to it. Commissioned service providers need to demonstrate that they are willing and able to be flexible enough to reshape and reform as well as being a partner in the strategic developments and an operational delivery partner. This is part of the wider Doncaster Growing Together strategy: http://www.doncaster.gov.uk/services/the-council-democracy/doncaster-growing-together Doncaster Council and Doncaster CCG have agreed to the transformation of 9 registered care homes (across 6 sites) into supported accommodation. There are Circa 40 residents who have varying and or complex needs and behaviours that challenge. We are seeking an innovative Provider who is able to help individuals and communities to support themselves and retain independence by focusing on strengths, assets and networks as opposed to deficits; continue to support people with high quality personal and health care whilst successfully managing a significant shift in ethos. Providers will be required to demonstrate high quality person centred approaches with a proven track record of supporting those with varying and or complex health and behavioural needs to have more control over their lives, be an active part of their community, to have new experiences within a framework of positive risk taking, and ultimately for lives to be enriched. Providers will also be required to facilitate outcome focussed day opportunities in the community as opposed to attendance at traditional Day Services, and this may include supporting some people with a transition from a traditional day service they have used for a number of years. Doncaster Council and Doncaster CCG therefore invite potential providers to attend a Market Engagement Event on the Friday 28 September 2018 from1pm at the Mary Woollett Centre, Danum Rd, Doncaster DN4 5HF to discuss the Council's proposals and tender opportunity. Providers who are interested in registering to attend the event should contact Angela Ireland via email Angela.Ireland@doncaster.gov.uk by the 20th September 2018.
