Notice Title
West Essex Tier 3 Weight Management Services - Market Engagement
Notice Description
West Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (WECCG) is inviting suitably qualified providers to attend a market engagement event which will inform the West Essex CCGs intention to procure Tier 3 Weight Management Services for its patient population. West Essex CCG has a population of approximately 315,000. It consists of 32 GP member practices that are working to ensure the local population has high quality healthcare services which are sustainable. Tier 3 Weight Management Services provides the link between Tier 1 and 2 environments and population-wide services and lifestyle interventions, and Tier 4 Specialist Bariatric Surgical Services. Increased weight and obesity presents a major challenge to the current and future health of the local population. Higher body mass index (BMI) is associated with an increased risk of morbidity and mortality from a range of conditions including hypertension, heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and several cancers. It also contributes to increased social care costs. More information on local trends and prevalence can be found in the Joint Strategic Needs Assessments on the West Essex CCGs' website. This service seeks to provide a safe and effective high quality weight management service which supports patients to achieve clinically significant weight loss through safe and sustainable means. The format of the event will be 1:1 discussions with interested providers which will take place on Tuesday 19th November between 10.00am - 1.00pm. Providers will be allocated a 30 minute slot following the registration deadline on Thursday 14th November at 12noon. To register your interest in attending please go to the Attain Bravo Solution Portal.
