Domestic Waste Management & Recycling Services
Notice Description
University Hospitals Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMB), Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (BTH) and East Lancashire Hospitals Trust (ELHT), in conjunction with Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (LTH) and Lancashire and South Cumbria are working in partnership to source a suitably qualified provider or providers for the collection, transportation and recycling of general domestic waste, miscellaneous waste. It is expected that the provider will work with the Trust(s) to continually develop and improve the management of waste services. As well as providing any necessary equipment, the provider will also have knowledge of all waste regulations and be expected to deliver innovative solutions for waste reduction throughout the contract period. Additionally, the provider will also be expected to advise and lead on the continuing implementation of waste segregation to support recycling and reprocessing. It should be noted that University Hospitals Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMB) and Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (BTH) intend to utilise the contract from the commencement date whereas East Lancashire Hospitals Trust (ELHT), Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Trust and Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (LTH) may elect to join the contract at a later date.
