Notice Description

The scope of works includes refresh of the internal finishing's, address shortcomings with the toileting, catering, fire escape and occupancy matters, opening of existing windows, and mechanical and electrical compliance especially classroom artificial lighting and switching. There are also room heating and water heating issues to address, boiler servicing, and local internal drainage and mechanical ventilation to existing toilets. There is also an IT (passive) infrastructure upgrade. An RIBA stage 1 - 2 scope of work and brief for building fabric and building services with a basic schema for the additional toilet layout will be set out in the ITT documentation.The works will require the contractor to undertake surveys to determine the extent of repair works to ceilings, windows, boilers, ventilation to existing toilets as necessary. The works will include for providing an extension to the door release facility from the existing reception and extending the fire detection system to the internal ducts. There are also fire-stopping works to ensure compliance. The work will be complete in one or two sections. The contractor will be required to make provision for storage of all loose FF&E and IT equipment. Section 1 - must achieve full occupation of all rooms by 02nd September 2020. If not possible to complete all works within Section 1 the contractor is required to identify the scope of Section 2 works. Section 2 works must achieve completion of the full scope of work including work not completed as part of Section 1 by 30th October 2020. The contractor will be required to include a programme and scope of work that sets out in broad terms proposals to deliver a completed project, including the resource, technical submittals and working arrangements necessary to ensure the school will be able to operate from 02nd September 2020 (Completion of Section 1) and 30th October (Completion of Section 2). The contractor is required to set out their sectional completion The contractor will be required to address compliance matters including Building Inspector Consultation and approval with regard to Building Control Approval in particular fire safety. The contractor will be required to comply with listed building permission where any aspect of the proposed scope of work requires consultation e.g. the external DX units and internal the additional internal toilets. Please note that the contractor will be required to include in their tender for the capacity assessment for existing incoming and outgoing services and their connections, as required for the kitchen catering equipment, additional toilets and IT and artificial lighting upgrade, and to undertake a survey of the existing services effected by the works. The contractor will be required to carry out any surveys and design services to assure the school will remain functional and coordinate the connection of services with all appropriate parties.
