Notice Title

Crisis House Tender

Notice Description

Both local mental health providers, within Birmingham and Solihull STP, have agreed in principle to pool resources to open a crisis house. Such a facility will provide a viable alternative to a psychiatric inpatient admission for those who would benefit from brief biopsychosocial interventions during short term crisis. The Provider will work in partnership with BSMHFT and Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust on behalf of Forward Thinking Birmingham (hereafter referred to as FTB), to provide safe, therapeutic and clinically effective support to adult (18yrs+) service users requiring recovery focused crisis interventions, ensuring that the care and social needs are met to the standards within the remit of the Providers' relevant CQC registration. The service will be delivered by a single Provider and will operate across either one or two sites located in Birmingham; these will need to incorporate one 8 bedded mixed sexed area/site and one separate 6 bedded single sex female area/site, for service users under the care of BSMHFT and FTB. The rationale for the separate female only area is to ensure we can appropriately support vulnerable females whilst also supporting ethnic and cultural sensitivities of the diverse Birmingham population.
