CWC21178a - Empowering Communities Programme PHE Better Mental Health Fund 2021-22

Notice Description

City of Wolverhampton Council are seeking a provider to: 1. Complete a city wide survey of mental health and wellbeing using national survey metrics as well as probing questions and questions from a previous Wolverhampton lifestyle survey to provide insight into how and why particular aspects of the pandemic have impacted upon people's mental health and wellbeing across the city. 2. Carry out a systematic review of evidence on the impact of Covid-19 pandemic upon different population groups to identify those within the city who are likely to be exposed to factors which mean they are at a greater risk of developing mental health problems. 3. Co-create and evaluate a diverse range of mental health promoting projects using evidence-based frameworks to help a wide range of communities (covering children & young people, adults, older adults) share their unique experiences of the Covid-19 pandemic, highlight both risk and protective factors for their mental health and wellbeing. 4. Produce an overall report of findings from all above ECP activities using a need's assessment format. The PHE Better Mental Health Fund (2021-2022) is part of the government's Mental Health Recovery Action Plan 2021/22 which seeks to ensure the mental health impacts of COVID-19 are rapidly addressed, services can respond quickly and pressures on the NHS are reduced. It is also part of the government's levelling up agenda which seeks to restore the economy, level up the country and build back better. This aligns with several of the CWC 'Relighting Our City' priorities including a desire to support those who need us the most within the city. The Empowering Communities Programme will utilise Better Mental Health Funding provided to City Wolverhampton Council (CWC) to understand mental health need across the city as well as to understand impact of interventions to engage with communities to share their stories of mental health during the pandemic.
