Summary of the contracting process

Slough Borough Council is planning to procure a Sensory Needs Service aimed at supporting individuals with visual, hearing, or dual sensory needs. The tender is currently in the planning stage, with an anticipated publication date set for the end of October 2020. The total budget for this service over the contract period, which runs from 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2024, is £375,000, with annual budgets of £125,000 allocated for each fiscal year. This procurement will be conducted through a selective method, specifically a call-off from a dynamic purchasing system, and services will primarily be delivered in the South East region of the United Kingdom.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specializing in social care, particularly those that provide assessment, support planning, equipment provision, and enablement services for individuals with sensory disabilities. Companies that can demonstrate the ability to deliver high-quality, person-centred services may find this contract attractive, especially small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) that meet the criteria set by the council. By competing for this tender, businesses can not only contribute to community welfare but also enhance their market presence and foster growth in the public sector.
