Summary of the contracting process

The Bristol City Council is conducting an open tender for the "Child Development and Sustainability" service, aimed at enhancing the accessibility and quality of childcare provision in Bristol. The tender is currently active and is classified under health and social work services, specifically focusing on out-of-school provisions such as breakfast and holiday clubs. The tender period concludes on 10th August 2018, with a contract period running from 1st January 2019 to 3rd January 2022. The estimated contract value is £915,000, with a minimum value of £610,000, making this an extensive opportunity for service providers in the childcare sector.

This tender presents considerable growth opportunities for businesses specialising in childcare services, particularly those that provide out-of-school childcare solutions. Companies that operate as registered childcare providers with Ofsted, including schools managing early years settings or after-school clubs, would be well-positioned to compete for this contract. Additionally, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to participate, as the tender suitability indicates a preference for their involvement in delivering quality childcare services in collaboration with local strategic partners.
