Nexus Nexus is a brand new ?40m innovation centre designed to enhance the University's collaboration with business and drive value creation including growth in collaborative research and innovation (R&I) income for the University. The 10,000m2 facility provides the space and the proactive and tailored professional support to smooth access to our world-class research and innovation, our talented students and graduates, and our portfolio of professional and executive development. Opening in September 2018, Nexus will provide high quality office and laboratory accommodation targeted towards technology-led companies that can benefit from more effective collaboration. This will enable growing technology businesses and project teams to co-locate on campus. Alongside workspace there will be extensive space and a year-round programme of events to drive connections, communication and collaboration with researchers and the rest of the Nexus community. Expert mentors, and a range of financial, technical and management service providers and investors will provide companies with the wider expertise and resources they need and contribute to making Nexus a vibrant innovation community. The community will comprise: o Start-up and early stage businesses o Small growing businesses o Corporate R&D and new product development teams o University and partner researchers o University professional services o Investors and funders of research and innovation o IP lawyers, tax accountants, recruiters, market researchers o Business support agencies and networks o Professional bodies o Student and graduate talent Pre-letting - The Requirement The University is looking to begin a period of pre-letting from September 2017 to get as close as possible to full occupancy of 85% on opening in September 2018, with 70% occupancy a minimum target. Taking account of existing tenants moving across from the Leeds Innovation Centre, this minimum equates to approximately 40 new tenants. It is this period of pre-letting for which you are invited to submit a tender. The work to be performed is the promotion of Nexus in the target market and generation of enough qualified leads for the University/Nexus to be able to interview and negotiate the number of tenancy agreements it is targeting by September 2018. Lead qualification will be based on agreed application of the Nexus entry criteria the University/Nexus will use when interviewing companies.
