Summary of the contracting process

The Forest Heath District Council is currently planning an Industry Engagement Day scheduled for 10th May 2018, from 9 AM to 11 AM, at the Millennium Suite, The Rowley Mile, Newmarket. This event is part of a procurement process initiated by the Department of the Air Force’s 48th Fighter Wing (USAFE), and it aims to provide insights into new supply chain opportunities primarily focused on RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall. The engagement will close for registration on 31st May 2018 and caters to a diverse range of industries relevant to the US government's needs, which include grounds maintenance, waste management, and pest control.

This engagement presents an excellent opportunity for businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs), looking to expand within the defence and public service sectors. Companies that can provide services related to maintenance, equipment supply, and related support within UK military installations will find beneficial networking and potential contracting opportunities. Attendees are encouraged to prepare for future procurement processes by familiarising themselves with the registration requirements to become direct vendors for the US government.
