Summary of the contracting process

The University of Birmingham is currently seeking tenders for the supply of a Hybrid Powered Mini-Excavator as part of its development of the National Buried Infrastructure Facility, an innovative research centre expected to open early 2019. This procurement, classified under the goods category and specifically focusing on mechanical excavators (CPV Code: 43262100), is at the tender stage, with submissions due by 12 December 2018. The contract period is anticipated to commence on 17 January 2019 and conclude by 8 March 2019. The procurement follows an open method, and potential bidders should submit their documents through the University’s In-Tend portal by the specified deadline.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the construction and equipment supply sectors. Companies with expertise in manufacturing or supplying excavation machinery, especially those focused on hybrid technologies, would be well-positioned to respond effectively. Engaging with this opportunity could not only enhance a firm's portfolio but also support the innovative infrastructure projects underway at the University of Birmingham, thereby contributing to long-term growth and collaboration within the sector.
