Summary of the contracting process

The Brighton & Hove City Council is currently in the tender stage of the procurement process for the "BHCC HP - Repairs and Maintenance Contractor Framework." This initiative aims to establish a framework agreement for contractors to perform various construction-related works, specifically repairs and maintenance across the council's housing stock in the South East of England. The tender period is set to close on 31 January 2022, with the contract anticipated to commence from 23 May 2022, lasting until 30 June 2026. The procurement method employed is an open procedure, allowing for widespread participation, and it encompasses eight distinct lots focusing on areas such as asbestos removal, damp issues, and general building repairs.

This tender presents significant opportunities for SMEs and voluntary community sector enterprises specialising in construction and maintenance services. Businesses equipped to offer comprehensive repair solutions, including those with expertise in roofing, window and door repairs, and remedial works for vacant properties, would be particularly well-suited to compete. Engaging with this framework could enable firms to establish long-term relationships with the council and other participating authorities, facilitating sustained business growth within the housing maintenance sector.
