Summary of the contracting process

The Lancaster City Council is seeking tenders for the replacement of sliding doors at the Festival Market in Morecambe, Lancashire. This procurement falls under the works category, with an estimated budget of £30,000. The tender, classified under repair and maintenance services of building installations, is currently active and is being conducted via an open procedure. The deadline for tender submissions is 23rd June 2016, with the expected contract start date on 4th July 2016, lasting until 31st July 2016.

This tender offers a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in construction, particularly those experienced in installing doors or similar building installations. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) would be well-suited to compete, given the project's accessibility and budget size. Companies with innovative solutions for high-wind environments would also have an advantage, considering the specific needs outlined by the council for durable replacement doors that ensure ease of access while protecting against inclement weather.

Notice Title

replacement of sliding doors at Festival Market Morecambe

Notice Description

We run the Festival Market in Morecambe and are having trouble with the doors - we have attached some images to give you an indication of what they are currently like. It's likely that they are beyond repair so we are seeking budget costs for replacement with a similar system or one that is more appropriate, bearing in mind the high wind loads that the building endures throughout winter. We are located close to the sea front. One contractor has suggested roller shutters but this is not an acceptable solution. Sliding doors are necessary for easy access and to stop the rain blowing in there in winter. The address is: Festival Market Central Drive Morecambe Lancashire LA4 4DW
