CQC Project Manager

Job Title: CQC Project Manager Rate of Pay: Max. PS500 per day (Max. PS575 inclusive of costs) Hours: 37 hours per week Location: Sandwell Council House, Freeth Street, Oldbury, B69 3DE Start Date: ASAP Contract type: Agency Brief description: An exciting opportunity has arisen within Adult Social Care for an experienced project manager to assist in the preparation for the Care Quality Commission (CQC) assurance assessment. The CQC will be looking for clear triangulation of feedback from people who use services and their carers, providers, and Sandwell's own assessment of what it is doing well, its challenges, and improvement plans. You will also provide support with the development of a robust Adult Social Care Strategy and Strategic Plan to assist and enable residents in Sandwell to live independently in the community. We are looking to recruit a project manager who has experience, knowledge and understanding of adult social care and Care Quality Commission assessment of local authorities. Significant project management knowledge and experience is also required alongside being organised and able to prioritise effectively. The role will include: 1) The preparation of an Information Return on key areas of policy, practice, and performance. 2) Rewriting a comprehensive self-assessment of the local authority's delivery of adult social care to take into account new ADASS and LGA guidance, including challenges and improvement plans. This includes providing a well-evidenced analysis of performance, and would be based around the four key themes that the CQC will be inspecting: * Working with people * Supporting people * Safety in the system * Leadership 3) Collating good news stories and analysing the current challenges that Sandwell face which include waiting times for assessment, the consistency of social work practice including strength-based work, and challenges around workforce recruitment and retention. 4) Preparing a list of key partners in the voluntary and community sector, commissioned providers, and other key stakeholders such as NHS partners. 5) Ensure permission is sought from individuals to share their details with the CQC for any sample files that will be audited. 6) Provide briefing sessions to staff, Members, and stakeholders to ensure they are prepared for the CQC assessment and have a clear understanding of the key messages that are reflected in the CQC Information Return and Self-assessment. No DBS is required for this role.
