Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves Birmingham City Council inviting tenders for the award of contracts related to the "Birmingham & Solihull Youth Promise Plus: Specialist Intervention Worker Services". This initiative, part of a larger EU commission-funded project, targets young people aged 15-29 who are not engaged in education, employment, or training (NEETs). The procurement stage is at the award phase, with the contract period commencing on 3rd April 2017 and lasting until 30th June 2018. The deadline for submitting tenders was 25th January 2017. The procurement method used is an open procedure, and the industry category primarily falls under youth education services, alongside social work services and related areas, in the West Midlands, United Kingdom.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for organisations specialising in youth services, vocational training, and social work to expand their operations and engage with local communities. Businesses equipped to deliver specialist support services for young individuals—the mentally challenged, those with learning disabilities, and those at risk of re-offending—will find this tender particularly relevant. Additionally, companies with experience in employing and managing support workers in a flexible, client-focused manner will be well-placed to compete effectively for this contract.
