Summary of the contracting process

The Local Government Association (LGA) is seeking tenders for a project titled "Personal safety events for councillors," focusing on the delivery of three webinars designed to enhance the personal safety of councillors across England and Wales. The procurement process is currently in the tender stage, with submissions due by 12th November 2021. The events aim to equip attendees with practical strategies and tools for safe working, addressing topics such as risk assessment, technology use, and strategies for dealing with harassment and threats. The contract is set to commence on 17th November 2021 and will run until 31st March 2022. This opportunity falls under the services category, specifically classified as research and development services and related consultancy services, with an open procurement method applied.

This tender represents a valuable opportunity for consultancy firms with expertise in personal safety and risk management, particularly those familiar with the context of local government and councillor interactions. Companies that can demonstrate an understanding of unique safety challenges faced by local councillors, as opposed to Members of Parliament, will be well-suited to compete. This initiative not only provides an opportunity to develop a robust consultancy relationship with the LGA but also to enhance the safety protocols within local government operations, potentially leading to further engagements in the public sector.
