Summary of the contracting process

The West Midlands Combined Authority is currently in the planning stage for the "Park and Ride Suppliers Day / Networking Event." Scheduled for 9th November 2017 at their headquarters in Birmingham, this event is part of their strategy to enhance Park & Ride facilities in the West Midlands. Key milestones include an engagement end date set for 23rd February 2018. The procurement is focused on parking services, with opportunities for suppliers to engage on significant infrastructure projects and partnerships aimed at expanding transportation connections in the region.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses involved in transportation, construction, and technology sectors, particularly those specialising in parking services and infrastructure development. Companies that provide capital investment, design, and management of parking facilities, or those offering technological solutions such as Automatic Number Plate Recognition systems, would be particularly well-suited to participate. Engaging in this networking event may lead to future contracts and collaborations with TfWM, aiding growth in the burgeoning transport infrastructure sector of the West Midlands.

Notice Title

Park and Ride Suppliers Day / Networking Event

Notice Description

Transport for West Midlands (TfWM), part of West Midlands Combined Authority, provide over 8,500 parking spaces and has ambitious plans to further increase our Park & Ride capacity at Rail, Metro and Sprint (road rapid transit) sites by 3000 + spaces over the coming years. TfWM will be holding a Park & Ride Suppliers Day / Networking Event on Thursday 9th November 2017 to discuss how our plans with Park and Ride will help contribute towards the region's growth and investment being made with transport infrastructure, connecting people to HS2, Rail, Metro, Sprint, Training, Jobs and Housing. We hope that suppliers will identify opportunities that may exist in supporting TfWM through: * Shared / Partnership working, to offer capital investment for major projects, secure land, design, build and manage the provision of P&R facilities * Acting as a Third Party to independently make capital investment, secure land, design, build and deliver fully managed P&R * Design, supply, install and manage ANPR equipment and back office systems to manage access, egress and parking charges through cashless and contactless payments which should include payments with Swift card (ITSO) Swift is the regions version of London's Oyster card. * Providing total outsourced Car Park Management service across our existing and future car park estate * Helping TfWM offset operational costs, we are exploring what commercial opportunities may exist such as retail - vendor / sponsorship / advertising / space rental across our estate Parking enforcement is currently delivered through an existing 5 year contract, currently in year 2. PPM is delivered through a 5 year contract, currently in year 3. Cleaning & Grounds maintenance including Snow Clearance and Gritting is delivered through a 5 year contract, currently in year 2. Responses received could help TfWM design specifications for future requirements. Please see our BravoSolution e-tendering portal (https://wmca.bravosolution.co.uk) for further details. To confirm your attendance at the event please access our PQQ (ref: pqq_83) and select which session (AM or PM) you wish to attend via the Technical Envelope by 1200 noon on 8th November 2017. Both sessions taking place are subject to demand and if only one session is required this will be the AM session. Please note that we do not require any further details from suppliers at this stage.
