Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit is initiating a market engagement event titled "Market Engagement Event for Non-Emergency Patient Transportation Services," targeting an industry primarily focused on patient transport. This event is set to take place on 30th January 2019, from 10 am to 12 noon, at Malvern Community Hospital, located at 185 Worcester Road, Malvern, WR14 1EX in the West Midlands, UK. This procurement process, currently in the planning stage, aims to gauge market interest and will culminate in a tendering process starting in March 2019 for a service contract estimated to last five years, potentially extending for an additional two years. Registrations to attend the event are required by 22nd January 2019, and organisations must register a maximum of two representatives.

This engagement event presents a significant opportunity for businesses in the health services sector, particularly those specialising in non-emergency patient transportation and ambulance services. Companies with the capability to provide tailored transport solutions that enhance patient care will be well positioned to compete for this contract. Participation in this market event will allow organisations to network with commissioners and other providers, enabling them to gain valuable insights into the commissioning intentions and service specifications, thus fostering potential business growth in a competitive market.

Notice Title

Market Engagement Event for Non-Emergency Patient Transportation Services - NHS Herefordshire CCG, NHS Redditch & Bromsgrove CCG, NHS South Worcestershire CCG, and NHS Wyre Forest CCG:

Notice Description

This is an Advert for an Engagement Event to gauge market interest which will influence the future commissioning direction. NHS Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit on behalf of NHS Herefordshire CCG, NHS Redditch & Bromsgrove CCG, NHS South Worcestershire CCG and NHS Wyre Forest CCG (which will henceforth be known as 'the CCGs'), is seeking to engage with potential Providers for the provision of non-emergency patient transportation services. The CCGs intend to jointly go to market in March 2019 under Schedule 3 of the Public Contract Regulations 2015 to procure a non-emergency patient transportation service for the health population of the counties of Herefordshire and Worcestershire. It is likely that the duration of the service contract will be five (5) years, with the option to extend for an additional two (2) years, subject to agreement. The aim of the market engagement event will be to engage with potential providers for these services in order to share the commissioning intentions of the CCGs, and to seek the input from providers on a number important aspects relating to the services, including the service specification. The CCGs would like to assess the current market appetite to provide this service and identify any barriers to successful implementation. The outcomes of the market engagement event will then determine next steps. Please note, as the service specification is still under development, the estimated contract value of PS20m (for the 5-year period) is an indicative figure only, intended as a guide, and may be subject to change prior to any future procurement exercise. At the event, the commissioning authority will also present information regarding the proposed procurement process and procurement time line. At the event there will also be an opportunity for providers to network with other providers and the commissioners. The event will be held on: Wednesday, 30th January 2019 At: 10am to 12noon (Registration from 9.30am) Location: The Meeting Room, Malvern Community Hospital, 185 Worcester Road, Malvern WR14 1EX. Please note no more than 2 attendees per organisation should attend. Closing date for registration is 22nd January 2019 by 12 noon. Please note that after this deadline participation cannot be guaranteed. To book places at this Market Engagement Event, please use the Bravo Solution e-portal to complete a Response Form.
