Notice Description

The aim of this tender is to provide a significant improvement in the supply of ready to administer injectable products, and specifically to achieve * Optimisation of the formulation, presentation and labelling of products to improve safe handling and reduce risks to patients and staff. Reduced stock inventory Regular, managed deliveries of agreed volumesFull cost transparency per unit Approved product specifications to facilitate quality assurance at trust level The term "Ready to Administer Injectable Product" is intended to mean that the product is presented in a syringe or infusion bag that requires no further manipulation prior to administration. However, under this contract EMPC is happy to consider innovative technological solutions which may be used to minimise, the need for manipulation prior to administration and give advantages in increasing shelf life and reducing waste. Where novel presentations of the products are offered EMPC reserves the right to award both the novel presentation and a more "traditional" presentation of the same product and allow member Trusts to decide on which presentation to use. In these circumstances EMPC will endeavour to inform contractors of each member Trusts decision
