Notice Description

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is looking to put a contract in place for the provision of a service to provide the photocopying of patients' notes on behalf of the Health Records Department. The Medical Records Department provides a centralised photocopying service to all agencies requiring copies of Trust Medical Records. The demands on the service have increased steadily since the introduction of the Access to Health Records Act and Subject Access Requests made under the Data Protection Act 1998. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which will come into force in May 2018 requires Medical Records to be provided within 1 month of the request being made. The Medical Records Department is responsible for copying all Medical Records upon request on behalf of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (this is the objective of the contract to appoint an appropriate supplier to provide this service).
