Summary of the contracting process

The London Borough of Camden is currently in the award stage of a procurement process titled "Nursing Care Block Beds Tender." This initiative aims to establish up to five block contracts for the provision of 100 nursing beds, focusing on residential nursing care services. The procurement follows the "Light Touch" regime as stipulated in the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, with a budget of £28,500,000 allocated for the project. Proposals must be submitted by 21 January 2018, ensuring that the nursing facilities are located within a 45-minute travel time from the postcode N1C 4AG in London. The contract period for successful suppliers will commence on 2 April 2018 and extend until 31 March 2025.

This tender presents significant opportunities for providers of residential nursing care services in the London area, particularly those capable of delivering a minimum of 20 beds. Businesses with established capabilities in social work services and a strong operational footprint in or around Camden are well-positioned to compete. As the city seeks to secure flexibility and value in nursing provisions for its clients, those companies that align their offerings with the Council's requirements stand to benefit from a stable, long-term partnership in a growing sector.
