EAL High Level Teaching Assistant (Secondary) STEPS New Arrivals Centre - KS3&4 EAL HLTA Sandwell MBC are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed EAL High Level Teaching Assistant (Secondary) to join Sandwell's Transition, Education and Partnership Service (STEPS) for New Arrivals to Sandwell. Sandwell has approximately 800 international children joining us every year; you would be employed to work 5 morning per week 8.30am to 1.00pm (term time only) to co-plan and deliver an EAL learning package for a class of 25 (maximum) Years 7 - 11 students. You will be the teacher of this group 4 days per week and support our service on the fifth day. * Experience with the needs of EAL children. * Experience of teaching mixed ability classes with mixed year groups and needs. * Able to be flexible and adaptable in their delivery. * Able to deliver a roll on roll off curriculum to a continuously changing class. * Familiar with the DfE scale of English proficiency (would be beneficial). * Able to teach National curriculum maths ranging from primary to secondary level. * Planning, marking and assessessment of children's work. * Being a team member and passionate about children.
