Notice Title

The Efficacy of Peer Checking - Research to Better Understand Its Effectiveness

Notice Description

The aim of this research is to undertake a literature search and meta-analysis of research in relation to the effectiveness of peer checking. In particular this should consider and evaluate recently identified uncertainties in the benefits of peer checking identified in the relevant sectors (e.g., Medical, Rail, Aviation, Nuclear, and so on). Given the widespread use of peer checking as an error reduction tool within the nuclear sector, it is important that ONR has a scientifically informed and evidence based position on its effectiveness. This is particularly relevant in relation to ONR's position with regard to the efficacy of checks by Duly Authorised Persons (DAPs) as well as other Suitably Qualified and Experienced Persons (SQEPs) in undertaking safety important tasks. This tender is administered by HSE, of behalf of ONR. Additional information: All tender documents are available via the In-Tend supplier e-procurement portal. All responses and requests for clarification must be submitted via the portal. Registration is free of charge and can be completed via the following link: https://in-tendhost.co.uk/hse
