The NHS Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit is conducting a tender for the "NHS Halton CCG Community COPD Service," which focuses on providing community and home-based care for patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) across Halton. This procurement process is currently in the planning stage, with the initial submission deadline having been paused and now expected to reopen on 1st September 2017. The contract is valued at £750,000 annually, with an initial duration of five years and an option to extend for an additional two years. The geographical scope covers the North West region of England and is classified under social and other specific services in accordance with the Light Touch Regime of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.

This tender provides a significant opportunity for businesses, particularly those in the healthcare and community services sectors, to expand their operations and service offerings. Companies that can deliver patient-centred care, work collaboratively with social care providers, and facilitate a shift of care into the community are ideally positioned to compete. The successful bidder will contribute to the NHS Halton CCG's aims of reducing non-elective admissions and improving patient outcomes, making this a vital contract for organisations experienced in pulmonary care and community healthcare provision.
