Notice Description

Upgrade lighting to new LED lighting, contractor is required to provide a design completed by a suitably qualified lighting designer. The lighting design must be compliant with current legislation, standards, and regulations to ensure that the recommended maintained illuminance levels for the designated area has been met, and that DgP have met their obligations under The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. The lighting designer's proposal should demonstrate how compliance will be achieved to: a) Meet the minimum energy efficiency requirements of the Building Regulations Approved Document L including sub-metering requirements. b) Utilise by design the availability of natural daylight and lighting controls for daylight offsetting by controlling the luminaire output levels luminaires and integrating other technology such as sun pipes into design options. c) Surpass the minimum efficiency requirements through adopting additional system enhancements such as lighting control systems for which may consist of manual control, scene setting, occupancy sensing, time scheduling, daylight response, demand response, dimming, etc. d) The inclusion of emergency lighting as part of the lighting design in accordance with the requirements of BS5266, BS EN 1838, BS EN 50172, and The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. e) The future maintenance of the lighting installation i.e. hinged lamp-posts to allow for ease of maintenance from ground level. New lighting shall be controlled by automatic individual room sensors utilising occupancy and daylight detection. The internal spaces shall have a basic lighting control strategy assigned to each space depending upon occupancy and task. Emergency lighting and escape signage shall be designed and installed in accordance with BS 5266-1:2016 Code of Practice for the Emergency Lighting of Premises including reference to BS EN 1838:2013. The emergency lighting design shall be produced in coordination with the fire escape strategy. Scope shall comprise: Undertake an intrusive survey to identify ceiling types, lighting types lighting control details etc. Remove all existing non-LED luminaires. The disposal of fluorescent lamps shall be in accordance with the relevant regulations. Remove final circuits associated with redundant luminaires, including MCBs within distribution boards. Remove lighting controls components which are incompatible Design, supply, and installation of new LED and Emergency lighting systems to all areas of the building. Installation of a new LED external lighting system to all areas of the building. Modification of existing lighting control components Testing, commissioning, and handover of the completed works, including training of system users, Record Information (As Built Drawings and O&M Manuals) and updating the H&S File and the Asset Register.
