Summary of the contracting process

The NHS England and NHS Hull Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is conducting an open procurement process for an Alternative Provider of Medical Services (APMS) contract aimed at delivering GP services at the Calvert and Newington Health Centres in Hull, England. This procurement is currently in the planning stage, with a total contract value estimated at £14.3 million over an eight-year period, with a potential five-year extension. Interested parties are required to mobilise by 1 April 2019, and must submit their expressions of interest by 16 May 2018, as the procurement is expected to be published by early June 2018. The contract will be awarded to a provider capable of managing a patient list size of approximately 10,820 and fulfilling the outlined service requirements effectively.

This tender presents substantial growth opportunities for businesses specialised in healthcare services, particularly those offering primary care, general practitioner services, and innovative healthcare solutions. Organisations that are registered to provide GP services and have experience in community engagement, patient satisfaction improvement, and the mobilisation of healthcare services will find this opportunity especially appealing. The contract’s value, along with the prospect of additional income through quality and enhanced services, makes it an attractive bid for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary community sector enterprises (VCSEs) looking to expand their operational footprint within the NHS framework.
