This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in educational services, particularly those that specialise in teacher training and professional development. Companies capable of delivering innovative training solutions and supporting high-performing graduates and career changers in teaching will be well-suited to compete. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are particularly encouraged to participate, as the DfE seeks to optimise their involvement in the programme. By engaging with the DfE, these organisations can contribute to creating opportunities for social mobility within low-income communities and close the attainment gap for disadvantaged pupils.

The contract is likely to be for a term of 4 years that will deliver two cohorts of participants, the first of which will start their employment-based ITT in September 2021 and the second in September 2022. The contract may include an option to extend for a further period of up to two years, to deliver an additional one or two further cohorts.
