Summary of the contracting process

The North West London Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) are currently in the planning stage of a procurement process for care home services, formally titled "North West London Care Home Services." This initiative aims to engage with both existing and new care providers to understand the local provision of fully funded residential care packages. The engagement event is scheduled for 18 July 2017, from 11am to 3pm in Central London, with an RSVP deadline for interested parties set for 28 July 2017. This procurement falls under the health and social work services category, and the primary organisational buyer is NHS Shared Business Services, located at 120 Holborn, London.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the health and social care sector, particularly for those providers of care home services, independent hospitals, and community providers who can deliver residential care and nursing services. With the CCGs spending £130 million annually on care-related services, including out-of-sector placements, there is a clear demand for sustainable solutions to address existing gaps in provision. Businesses keen to partner in this initiative can leverage the provider engagement event to foster collaborative relationships and contribute to improving care quality and accessibility in North West London.

Notice Title

North West London Care Home Services

Notice Description

The North West London Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) are seeking to engage with both existing and new providers of care home services and other residential packages of care being fully funded by the NHS. Many of these are typically provided by care homes with nursing, but other types of providers also often provide much needed capacity and capability including e.g. independent hospitals, community providers and also hospices. The aims of this market engagement are to * Gain a better understanding of the current provision of fully funded residential care packages homes with nursing in the North West London sector * Continue to build and sustain effective working relationships with provider partners * Gain a deeper understanding of the capability and capacity of provider partners interested in delivering these services. * Explore how the CCGs and provider partners could work more collaboratively to make better use of the resources in the sector * Discuss potential areas for market development to address the gaps in provision currently and ensure a sustainable level of supply of the right type of care both in terms of price and quality that the CCGs can buy in future. Together the NW London CCGs spend PS 130m on care home and relateds services annually including out of sector placements. In common with other CCGs across the country, the NW London CCGs are facing a significant financial challenge. There are currently key gaps in provision across the sector and as a result, the CCGs have made some placements out of the sector in order to accommodate the complex needs of patients. They are keen to develop more sustainable solutions within the sector in order to ensure that the right level and type of care in terms of price and quality is available to meet current and future demand. Interested Providers are invited to attend a Provider Engagement Event scheduled: Date: 18 July 2017 Time: 11am until 3pm Location: Central London RSVP: Kathryn.hancock@nw.london.nhs.uk You are also asked to complete the attached RFI Questionnaire. RFI responses will help the CCGs refine their approach as well as inform the opportunities to work together to improve services with regards to meeting the needs of service users and improving quality without destabilising service provision. You are therefore encouraged to respond to all questions as fully as you can. Please complete the attached RFI and send your response to alice.donovan-hart@nhs.net by 17.00 hrs by Friday 28 July 2017.
