Summary of the contracting process

The University of Nottingham is currently conducting a tender process for the design, build, installation, supply, commissioning, and training of a bi-directional 2MW DC Power Supply, specifically aimed at the electrified propulsion research sector. The tender, classified under the CPV code for power supply transformers, has a total value of £2,000,000 and a minimum value of £1,500,000. The procurement is being executed through an open procedure and is currently in the active stage, with the tender period ending on 8th January 2021. The contract is expected to commence on 29th January 2021 and extend for one year, including a minimum 12-month warranty and three additional years for technical support and maintenance.

This tender presents a substantial opportunity for businesses engaged in electrical engineering, power supply systems, and related manufacturing sectors. Companies that can provide advanced electrical apparatus such as transformers and have experience in delivering high-quality technical support services would be particularly well-suited to compete for this contract. The nature of the project may also benefit businesses that specialise in innovative energy solutions, potentially aiding in their growth and expanding market reach within the research and development arena.
