Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process, initiated by Durham County Council, involves the re-opening of the Day Services Provider Panel Agreement. This tender, titled "Re-opening of Day Services Provider Panel Agreement", falls under the health and social work services industry category. The contract period commenced on 12 April 2017, with a maximum contract value of £32 million extending through 31 March 2018, and options for further extensions up to March 2020. The award notice is classified as an open procedure, and the procurement stage is completed, having attracted a range of service providers located in the North East of the United Kingdom, specifically Durham.

This opportunity is particularly well-suited for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) operating within the health and social care sector. Companies specialising in day services provision, including community care and social support, are encouraged to participate. The expanded panel will provide a chance for these businesses to collaborate and gain a share of the projected contract value, facilitating growth and enhancing service delivery across the region.
