Notice Title

Dementia Navigators and Dementia Cafes for Birmingham

Notice Description

***THIS ADVERT IS FOR A MARKET CONSULTATION QUESTIONNAIRE ONLY*** Birmingham and Solihull CCG and Sandwell & West Birmingham CCG are holding a market engagement event for a Dementia Navigator Service. The service will provide Dementia advisors and support workers for people suffering with Dementia across the Birmingham footprint of the participating CCGs. For the avoidance of doubt, the Sandwell and Solihull areas will not be included in this procurement. The service will provide timely information, advice and support to individuals and their families, friends or carers throughout their journey with dementia, enabling them to live well as long as possible. This will include people who are worried about their memory, individuals newly diagnosed and those who have been living with dementia for some time but who could benefit from support. In addition to the Dementia Navigator Service, the CCGs will be looking to procure a Dementia Cafe service. Carers will usually attend Dementia and Activity Cafes as well as people with dementia and for many people with dementia and their carers they provide valuable social opportunities, access to specialist information and advice, and peer support as well as respite for carers. The CCG also require a Dementia Peer Support Group for Younger Onset patients to be provided. Following the market engagement event held on the 8th June, the CCG is now seeking to understand the market's views on how the procurement of the services mentioned above should, in the view of the market, be structured. The CCG is currently considering whether the service should be split into lots or if an approach should be adopted where all services are procured from the same service provider with that service provider being at liberty to appoint sub-contractors as they see fit to provide certain aspects of the service. With this in mind, the CCG is seeking responses to a survey which it has made available on the CSU's e-tendering system, Bravo. Providers should access the Bravo system, access PQQs available for open access and view PQQ_501. The specifications for the respective services as well as the slide packs from the recent market engagement events will also be available for providers to download from the portal. Please provide your response by 1700hrs on Tuesday 26th June.
