Summary of the contracting process

The London Borough of Camden is currently in the planning stage of a procurement process titled "Market Engagement on the introduction of a Dynamic Purchasing System for Camden's Adult Pathway." This initiative falls under the health and social work services industry category. The engagement event is scheduled for 13 February 2018 at Camden Town Hall, London, with a deadline for interest in attendance set for 12 February 2018 at 4pm. The primary aim of this meeting is to discuss a proposed Dynamic Purchasing System for housing-related support services targeted at various vulnerable groups within the community.

This procurement process presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in health and social care, particularly small to medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary and community sector entities (VCSEs) that can provide support services in hostels and supported housing. Given that the Adult Pathway services address complex needs such as homelessness, mental health issues, and domestic violence, suppliers with experience in these areas, particularly those who can deliver high-quality support for individuals with varying needs, will be well-positioned to compete for contracts arising from this initiative.

Notice Title

Market Engagement on the introduction of a Dynamic Purchasing System for Camden's Adult Pathway

Notice Description

This is a market engagement event for Adult Pathway services commissioned by The Council who are proposing to set up a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for the Housing Commissioning and Partnerships Team (HCPT). This meeting will explain the system and how to register. It will provide details about the Adult Pathway services and the rationale for using DPS for future procurement. We are keen to hear your views on the Council's proposal to use this system. Adult Pathway: The London Borough of Camden commissions housing related support services in hostels and supported housing for young people, people with mental health issues, people with learning and/or physical disabilities, single homeless people with support needs, and women escaping domestic violence and abuse. The services for single homeless people with support needs and women escaping domestic violence and abuse are commissioned by the Housing Commissioning and Partnerships Team and are known collectively as the Adult Pathway. The Adult Pathway plays an integral part in the Council's Homelessness Accommodation Strategy (February 2016) and the Council's rough sleeping strategy 'Tackling Rough Sleeping in Camden - A Routes Off The Street Approach' (February 2017). The Adult Pathway was launched by the Council in April 2007 and comprises 650 beds. The level of support provided varies between services, but the majority of services provide 24/7 cover and are for people with medium to high support needs. The main purpose of the Adult Pathway is to prevent homelessness, to help to reduce rough sleeping across the borough and to enable those with support needs and/or chaotic lifestyles to acquire the skills to live independently. Event Details The Market Engagement Event will take place on 13 February 2018, 2- 4pm in Committee Room 1, Camden Town Hall, Judd Street, London W1H 9JE. Please contact Minaxi Patel if you are interested in attending this event by emailing Minaxi.Patel@camden.gov.uk by 12th February, 4pm. Additional information: The service description indicates that staff need to have an understanding of homeless and able to work in a supported living environment.
