Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Southport & Formby Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and NHS South Sefton CCG are seeking to establish a Sefton Bladder & Bowel Prescription Service aimed at enhancing care for patients in the region. This service will cater to approximately 2,076 patients with stoma or catheter needs, allowing for seamless ordering of necessary products and access to specialist advice. The procurement is currently in the Tender stage, with responses due by 12pm on 18th December 2020. The selected contract, which operates on a £0 basis, is scheduled to commence on 1st April 2021 for an initial period of two years, with a potential extension of up to one additional year. The main procurement category falls under Miscellaneous health services, following an open procedure method.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for suppliers specialising in health services, particularly those focused on stoma and continence products. Businesses with the capabilities to deliver personalised care and support, including expertise in working with healthcare professionals and understanding patient needs, would be well-suited to participate. Additionally, this competitive environment encourages both small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as well as voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) to engage, enabling them to contribute to enhanced patient care and potentially expand their market presence by partnering with prominent NHS bodies.
