Summary of the contracting process

Maidstone Borough Council is initiating a procurement process titled "Vinters Park Crematorium - Florist Supplier Engagement," focused on the supply of floral arrangements. This opportunity falls under the industry category of "Floral arrangements" (CPV: 03121210) and is located in Maidstone, England, United Kingdom. The current procurement stage is "planning," with key dates including the publication date on 11th December 2024 and the engagement end date on 13th January 2025. The space for the florist comes with utilities such as water and power, and it will be the responsibility of the chosen concessionaire to fit out this space. The council conducts approximately 1,800 cremations and 140 burials annually, primarily from Monday to Friday, with the sites open on weekends for visitors.

This tender offers substantial business growth opportunities, especially for those in the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) and voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) sectors, which are specifically encouraged to compete. Companies experienced in providing floral arrangements and capable of establishing a physical presence at the crematorium would be well-suited to this opportunity. The procurement method employed is market engagement to gauge interest, and the selected business will become a key service provider at the Vinters Park Crematorium and Maidstone Cemetery, potentially increasing their customer base and market exposure.
