Summary of the contracting process

The Ministry of Justice is currently in the planning stage of the Market Engagement process for a Forensic Psychology Framework, which is aimed at providing essential psychological services across public sector prison establishments in England and Wales. The procurement events will take place remotely on 22nd and 23rd November 2021, with interested parties invited to participate in three sessions focusing on risk assessments, intervention programmes, and supervision services for trainee forensic psychologists. Notice Description

We would like to invite interested parties to three different Market Engagement Events which will be held remotely. Dates and Times - 22nd November 2021 10:00am - 12:00am will cover LOT1 - Forensic Psychology Risk Assessments - 23rd November 2021 10:00am - 11:30am will cover LOT2 - Intervention programmes (Healthy sex) - 23rd November 2021 13:30am - 15:00am will cover LOT3- Supervision Services for HMPPs trainee Forensic Psychologists. LOT 1: Forensic Psychology Risk Assessments Public sector prison establishments in England and Wales require the services of suitably qualified and experienced Forensic Psychologists to provide risk assessment services for prisoners/offenders. Services will be required on both a regular and ad-hoc basis to support work usually undertaken by Prison Service staff Psychology services are provided throughout HMPPS in both custody and community. High priority work is providing Forensic Psychological assessments & reports for the purposes of risk management. LOT 2: Intervention Programmes An important element of Psychology services is the contribution to rehabilitation of those in our care is the provision of evidence led interventions to address offending behaviour. Across the prison estate a number of group and individual interventions are delivered and overseen by Registered Psychologists. These are accredited by the CSAAP (Correctional Services Advice & Accreditation Panel) and therefore are bound by carefully constructed accreditation standards. In addition, on occasion there is a requirement to deliver a bespoke individual psychological intervention to some of the most complex individuals within our custody. LOT 3: Supervision Services Psychology service group in HMPPS is committed to developing our workforce so that the majority of the staff are Registered Psychologists (Forensic) with a number of Forensic Psychologist in Training posts in every region to ensure succession planning is a fluent process. At present those on a qualification route are enrolled on either the Cardiff Post Graduate Diploma in Practitioner Forensic Psychology or the BPS Qualification in Forensic Psychology (Stage 2). Supervision is a mandatory requirement for those in training and best practice for all Registered Psychologists. The demand for supervision services is variable depending on a number of factors. Demand may outstrip the capacity of directly employed Registered Psychologists and therefore this contract aims to support the workforce development and enable staff in training to progress at an appropriate speed.
