Summary of the contracting process

The CTM Portal for the NDA Shared Services Alliance is conducting a tender for the "LLWR Packaging & Associated Services ITT" in the packaging sector, specifically focused on the packaging of radioactive waste. Located in Seascale, England, this open procurement process aims to establish a four-year multi-Lot framework agreement with an estimated maximum expenditure of £17 million, although no actual spend is guaranteed. The tender period will close on 4th February 2020, while the contract is set to commence on 17th July 2020 and conclude on 16th July 2024.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for SMEs and VCSEs involved in providing packaging solutions, particularly those specialising in items such as ISO containers, UN-approved drums, and soft-sided packaging. Businesses with expertise in related services, including maintenance and design support, would also find potential for growth in collaborating on this framework. The emphasis on cost, quality, and timely delivery aligns well with companies poised to meet the rigorous standards necessary for handling radioactive waste management under the Joint Waste Management Plans.
