Summary of the contracting process

Bristol City Council is initiating a tender process for the establishment of wet clinics aimed at supporting individuals who use drugs and alcohol. The contract, which falls under the health and social work services category, is in the planning stage and has a potential value of £153,300. The council is seeking expressions of interest from providers to deliver this service, which will operate across three locations in Bristol. Interested parties should note that the engagement period ends on 13th May 2022, with the potential contract duration being 12 months, extendable for an additional two years.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for organisations specialising in health outreach and addiction support services, particularly small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs). Businesses that can demonstrate experience in engaging hard-to-reach populations and providing health interventions will be well-positioned to compete. The approach aims to mitigate the impact of anti-social street drinking while enhancing treatment accessibility, making it essential for providers to align their services with the council’s objectives of improving public health in Bristol.
